- The instructor is required to be present in the LRC during the entire class session

General Conduct Policy for Students:
The Language Resource Center is a teaching and learning space available to UNCC faculty and students. When it is not being used as a teaching space, the Classroom (COED 433) is available to all UNCC students as a public computing lab. Students who use the LRC must follow the UNCC Code of Academic Responsibility, including the rule for Student Conduct (UNCC Policy Statement 104, section 10). The clearly outlined policies and expectations for student conduct in a public learning space as defined in UNCC PS 104.10 are intended to foster a positive and productive learning atmosphere for all students using the LRC. Students who exhibit conduct that disrupts the productive learning atmosphere or that violates the UNCC Code of Academic Responsibility will be asked to modify their conduct or leave the LRC.
Policies on Reservations and Use of Faculty Development Lab (COED 436):
- The Fac Dev Lab is a faculty-only space
- It is not permitted to have students meet or work in the the Fac Dev Lab
- For assistance in the Fac Dev Lab, contact the LRC director or the LRC Computer Support Technician
LRC Film Reserve Policy:
The LRC manages the collection and circulation of the Language and Culture Studies department’s film collection. The LRC maintains a searchable online database of the collection that can be viewed by faculty and students. Faculty are permitted to check out films from the collection and to place them on reserve for their students. Students are not permitted to check out films unless they have been placed on reserve in the LRC by a faculty member. The LRC will keep this database up-to-date so that faculty know what films are available for their use. The film collection is stored in COED Room 431. Click here to read the full Film Reserve Policy.
Policy on the Check-out and Use of LCS Equipment by LCS Faculty Members:
The LRC manages the circulation and technical support for a variety of hardware and equipment that LCS faculty can check out and use to for teaching and research purposes. Faculty can request training from the LRC Director or the LRC Coordinator on the use of the equipment. It is not required to receive training to check out and use the equipment. The equipment can be checked out for use outside of the LRC, including use in the classroom and outside of the university, including long-distance travels. The checkout period is flexible. Normally, a 24-hour checkout period is suggested. However, longer checkout periods are possible and meant to facilitate the faculty’s use of equipment and support for their endeavors with technology. Click here to read the full Check-out and Use of LCS Equipment Policy.
Scanning Policy:
The LRC provides the service of drop-off scanning assistance for LCS and ELTI faculty members. Click here for the full LRC Scanning Assistance Policy. |
