Overview of Online Tutoring

Online tutoring is available during the Fall and Spring semesters on the same schedule as Drop-In Tutoring. It is not available during the summer.

Cristian - one of our friendly online tutors!

Online tutoring is delivered via Centra, a web-conferencing tool. You will need to use a computer connected to the internet that has speakers and a microphone or a headset with a microphone. Students who wish to receive online tutoring can access it from any computer connected to the internet.

How to access online tutoring:
  • Run a short technical setup: http://centraone.uncc.edu/SysCheck/main/
    • This will ensure that your computer settings will work for the session
  • Go to: http://centraone.uncc.edu/
  • Username: student11
  • Password: centra
  • Select the "Ongoing" tab, then select "Attend" to open the Centra session window
  • Select the session named "LRC Tutoring"

Please note that only one student at a time may log in to the tutoring session. If you try to log in and the system does not allow it, try again in a few minutes. You may phone the LRC at any time to ask for help accessing online tutoring: 704-687-8768.

More information about how to use Centra is available:

Student evaluation of peer tutor:
